Add Texture to Your Pages with Monsoon Sky
Quickstart 3.6 comes to Arizona Sites on October 28, bringing more of the university’s new brand guidelines to campus websites. Monsoon Sky, a new background pattern featured in the Arizona.edu redesign, gives you another way to bring that visual identity into your pages.
Its linear design adds subtle texture and a sense of movement, providing a distinctive backdrop for text.
A New Way to Express the Brand
The university’s brand embellishments and textures guidelines describe Monsoon as a pattern that creates linear movement and works well beneath text columns.
Monsoon Sky brings that treatment into Quickstart as a background option. It gives you more flexibility to create visually interesting pages within the shared university brand.

Give Featured Content a Distinctive Backdrop
Consider Monsoon Sky for an introduction, a featured message or a section you want to distinguish from the content around it. The pattern can help vary the visual rhythm of a page while keeping the focus on your message.
Use it selectively so your featured sections retain their emphasis. Review the pattern with your actual content to see how the text, spacing and background work together.
Where to Find It
Monsoon Sky is available in the Text with Background element with Arizona Blue or Azurite backgrounds.
Choose one of those background colors, then select the Monsoon Sky pattern. This is an optional design treatment; existing backgrounds remain available for now, but will be deprecated as we roll out more options within the new guidelines.
